When kids discover their private areas & start messin with themselves.K, so my daughter started that a couple?

years ago, she is now 6y/o. So I was never the way she is and I have never had to deal with this sort of thing. She touches herself all the time, like when she's just lounging around the house or what not. She's getting a lil old for this, we've always been like on her about washing her hands, and all that stuff and trying to get her to realize you can't do that sort of thing and it's a private thing and all... Since she got really bad about it we started getting on her case to get her just not to do it at all. Since then I haven't "walked in on her" at all in a while. But now like another reason we were getting on her about it was because she herself can cause an infection and all due to not having hands clean like the prob with most kids. Now she actually has gotten one and we sorta changed it up in saying point blank it needs to stop because she's hurting herself and if they find this or that they could think other things and... oi... I don't know what else to say to her, help????
