Excuses for putting off leaving his wife?

married man with once (3 years ago) cheating wife, and her (not his) 2 children, almost teenagers. spouses fight all the time, divorce was coming with or without "other woman" in the picture. he says he will leave her and her kids but excuses keep coming up and has put it off for 6 months. he has absolutely no feelings for his (as he calls her) soon-to-be-ex-wife except for complete detest. why isnt he getting the guts and just leaving. life is unhappy for everyone, including the kids, while they're together. is it a motivation issue? tried to talk to him and he says he is waiting for the oppurtune moment. he always sets dates for "one month from now" or "by march" etc... now, it's april 17th...is he scared? i dont need criticism for being the other woman or seductress or temptress. they talked about divorce almost every week for 3 years before i met him, me coming into the picture didnt ruin anything, perhaps sped it up a little. what do all of you think??
